My silly boy!

Yesterday I made French Toast for lunch. While I was cooking the first piece a little bit of the butter around the edges of the pan burnt a little. Elijah ran into the kitchen from the living room. Sniffing the air he asks
"Mama! What's that holible smwell?!"
I about peed my pants I was laughing so hard!

Last night I washed my bed sheet and had it hanging on the recliner to dry over night. When he saw it this morning he insisted we build a "fowt" with it, over an upside down laundry basket and a chair, then while he was under it he told me I had to look at him under the sheet and through the holes in the basket, just so!
What a riot!
I love this kid!

Art Day!

So, today Elijah was in one of his "artsy" moods, actually he always loves doing something with his hands. He found tubes of blue and green finger paint and went to work. Really, he can't stand wet, gooey stuff on his fingers so he uses one of my pastry brush thingies as a paint brush.

He used up all of the finger paint so I let him use two bingo dabber things! LOL!
He worked on all those for nearly 2 hours!

Since he obliterated the Play-Doh he got with his kit for Christmas he helped me make some homemade play dough! He requested yellow, so we added yellow food coloring. It was a lot of fun to make and was really easy! It really reminded me of my childhood because my mom used to make it for us!

Sam made his own master piece with his favorite medium:
FOOD!!!

Don't let this face fool you. . .

. . .he's one of those insane artists!

Resolutions

I have never been big into New Year's Resolutions. I can't say I have ever really officially made one. Well, this year I made two!

Resolution #1
FOLD AND PUT AWAY the laundry IMMEDIATELY after taking it off the rack in the living room/ clothesline outside. We have a dryer- brand new, only used for a few months at our old apartment but since our house has no hookups or whatever and no one seems kind enough to get around to fixing that for me I have to dry the clothes by hanging them on a wooden rack in the living room and on the line outside when its warm (another reason why CAN'T WAIT for spring!). It has been slightly frustrating this winter because it takes 8 or so hours, give or take a few depending on what it is, to dry one load of clothes rather than the 45 minutes or whatever in a dryer!
Anyway, back to Resolution #1. I DESPISE folding clothes! So, I used to let loads upon loads of clean clothes pile up in my living room so when I finally got around to folding them (or should I say IF?!) it would take at least a few hours to complete! Daunting task! So, this year I told myself that I am never living like that again! As soon as I take the clothes off the rack I fold them and put them away! I have been doing really well so far but it should get challenging once school starts (my online class starts today!!!)

Resolution #2
This resolution only sprouted suddenly into my head a few minutes ago so I'm already a little behind. I'm going to write here once everyday the rest of 2010!!! You think I can do it? This one should be much more challenging because its easier to ignore my blog than it is to ignore Mount Washmore in my living room!

You all better hold me to these! I'm counting on you!

10 Things I Love

I LOVE . . .

1 . . . my quiet time after the kids are in bed- that's when I get to focus on cleaning the house, working out, entering into more giveaways, writing blog entries, catching up on Facebook! And rarely in that order!

2 . . . laying in bed every morning, all snug and warm, nursing my baby Sam. It feels so good to have those few moments, only once a day now, just holding and nurturing him as a baby still!

3 . . The way every night Elijah has to run straight for my bed after his shower, still nakey and dripping wet, to snuggle under the covers to warm up and dry off.

4 . . . watching my family gobble up a nutritious, homemade meal, knowing there is no MSG or any other nastiness in it.

5 . . . the way my kids exclaim "Yummy!!!" was they munch on raw organic broccoli, celery, and carrots! I wonder who they learned this from? *blush* ME!!! *blush*

6 . . how good I feel after a torturous workout!

7 . . . how my boys only want Mama when they are upset or hurt even though I can be so impatient and cross with them at times. They overlook my every fault.

8 . . . the thought that in just a few short months it will be spring!

9 . . .using the onions I grew in my garden last year in every thing I cook! However, my supply is running very low :(

10 . . . living where we live. It may not be perfect, but the location is like NONE other! We are only approximately 5 miles from school (maybe less?) and town, yet we are out in the country! We have a HUGE yard and garden, lots of privacy, lots of room for the kids (and hopefully more chickens this spring) to run wild!

Almost over

My winter break from school is nearly at its end :( My online class starts Monday and my clinicals start one week from Monday (the 25th). I purchased most of my books about a week ago- I still have two more that I need to get but even without those my total was nearly $1,100!!!! Here they are

WOW!!! Right?! Just looking at that stack of fat books scares the crap out of me! I highly doubt I am going to have time for ANYTHING once I'm forced to get into them.

I went in for my pre-clinical physical yesterday, got a tetanus shot (they weren't kidding when they said my arm would hurt for a few days!!! OUCH!!!), and the Tb skin test which I go in tomorrow to have read. So far everything has checked out good there. All I have left to do now is take my CPR for health care professionals on the 21st, and the Mandatory Reporting of Child and Adult Abuse class on the 26th.

I never thought this month would go by so quickly but it really has! I am nervous about starting clinicals but also have a sense of "finally!!!!" since I have had to hold back for so long.

Well, I have a silly 2 year old to get to bed so I better get to it!

Have a great night everyone!

Bad Mama

Is it terrible that I am so sick of the crying and screaming and whining right now that I just want to stop being a mommy?! I just want a few seconds of piece and relaxation. I just want to be able to go to the bathroom without a nosy toddler following me, jabbering non-stop.

I love my kids but right now I could really use a break from them, but seeing as I have nothing to offer anyone and no one is willing to watch them simply for the sake of their mothers sanity I guess I'm stuck where I'm at.

I know its just the lack of sleep talking here (and my 2 year old's lack of sleep!) but I'm still as frustrated as crap with both my kids, the mess and clutter all over the house, and especially with myself for being such a bad mommy that I feel this way.
