Lust!

So, there is this awesome blog, its all about cloth diapering, its called The Cloth Diaper Whisperer (http://www.theclothdiaperwhisperer.com/). If you cloth diaper or are interested/curious about modern cloth diapering (it is SOOOOOOOOOOO not what it used to be! Those horror stories your mother or grandmother tell you are just that in this realm of modern cloth diapering- stories. Cloth diapering has come a LONG way and now thousands of mothers, including me, enjoy cloth diapering!) check it out! There is so much useful info and fun stories! Also, there are Giveaways!!!!!! Every Friday you have a chance to win cloth diapers and cloth diapering products. I have never participated before this weeks but I so hope I win!!! I want the package SOOOOOOOOOOO bad!!! I probably only have 8 in 700 chances of winning but it could happen! Maybe you should try too so that if you win it you can give it to me!! ;P

So, Sammy has been getting all natural homemade food so here is our alternative to Gerber Puffs: POPCORN! It dissolves easily in his mouth just like the Puffs do but there is nothing artificial in it!! (Sorry to break it to you but Gerber doesn't care about the health of your child or the quality of what is going into your child's tiny, vulnerable body as much as it does about making money!) He thought it was strange since he is used to a liquid and puree diet but he seemed like it!

Good News!

Sorry I left those of you who do not follow me on FaceBook hanging! The mole biopsy came back from pathology negative (=NO cancer)!! AND the MRI showed that I have a really bad case of sinusitis. The only really bad news about that is I have been on antibiotics for 2 weeks now for it and I have not gotten better. So I saw my doc. again yesterday and I now have to be on the maximum prescription for Amoxicillin (2 pills 3 times a day! So 6 pills a day) for 6 weeks and hopefully that will sufficiently knock the infection out. Well, till next year that is- we are thinking it is allergy related :(.

Elijah has officially started potty training! I had no thought or worry of starting this soon but a few days ago I found him hiding in the kitchen with his diaper around his ankles so I asked him if he wanted to go potty in his potty chair and he said yes, and he DID it!!!! I was so shocked, happy, and proud of him! That whole day and the next we carried the potty chair into every room we were playing in and he went potty in it every time!!! He was SOOOO proud of himself!! Pooping has been a problem so far and at one point here was poop ALL over the kitchen floor and all the kitchen utensils he was playing with- including INSIDE of the Vit-a-Mix blender pitcher!!!! The potty chair was right there next to him but rather than sitting on that I guess he thought the floor and pitcher were a little more exciting to poop in!! SOOOOO much fun to clean up!!!!

The day before yesterday and yesterday he has been in the CRABBIEST moods ever and every little thing was this huge dramatic event which made it next to impossible to get him to go potty in the potty chair. But yesterday evening he decided he was big enough to go potty in the real toilet and did so probably 10 times before bedtime! Hopefully he does the same thing tomorrow! I am so proud of him! He is the smartest child ever!

Well thats all the news I have so here are a few pics from the past week or so.

He means business!

Sammy enjoys eating grass!

Elijah on his potty chair!

Mowing in the nude is serious business!

This would have been a cute pic of Sammy if Elijah's butt wasn't in it!

We all agree that the kittens are getting WAY too big to still be nursing! This pic is a few weeks old too so they are even bigger (and still nursing) now!

Sammy's new trick! He makes this face quite often now! I think he is pretending to be angry!

Here's how Eli occupied himself while we moved the washer in! LOL!!

No more quack Doctors for me!

Quack Doctor #1:

I have been having these headaches and odd lump behind my left ear for maybe one and a half years and about a year ago they got so bad that I had to have Rich take me into the Urgent Care (this was at like 8 or 9 pm). The idiot Attending Physician felt me over for 5 seconds maybe and blew my pain off as swollen lymph nodes. I knew thats not what it was but she refused to do any but write me a Doctors note so I could call into work that night and sleep it off. I did just that and a week or two later the headaches started to taper off. Occasionally, maybe once a month or so I would have a "flare up" as I call it but the pain would barely be bad enough to require taking any meds. That went on until about 2 weeks ago when I started getting BAD flare ups- worse than ever before!! I have felt close to passing out from the pain a few times and am currently taking 1,500 mg of Tylenol every 6 hours just to keep the pain at bay.

Quack Doctor #2:

I have had this light pink-ish mole on my forehead for the past 4-ish years. I remember after first it showed up thinking it was a pimple for the longest time, well, that pimple never went away and I realized it was some sort of mole. It has always bothered me. The way it looks, where it is on my forehead. I have just always had a bad feeling about it and wanted it OFF. I showed it to my Grandma Barb 2 years ago and she told me to get it taken off ASAP because she had a mole that looked like that on her nose, got it removed and good thing too 'cause it was cancerous mole! So, I finally went in a year-ish ago to get it looked at. Well, this quack doctor told me I had it just because I was pregnant (I was preggers with Sammy at that time), it was NOTHING to worry about. I tried to tell her that I have had it since before I ever got pregnant with Elijah but she would hear none of it and do nothing about it and she sent me away! A mole that had been there, growing for 4 years JUST because I was pregnant?!

BULL SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so upset because I know that there is NO way you can tell just by looking at a mole whether it is cancerous or not. What a quack!!!

ENTER: The Amazing Doctor Gordon!!!!

Last week I decided I could no longer stand the pain behind my left ear so I got online and looked up the dr. offices within our insurance network. Choose a location and on their website there is a picture of each dr. and a little bio about each dr.'s training ect. The pictures were a huge help! I chose the coolest and nicest looking dr. and called for an appointment. I made the right choice because when I went in for my appointment this morning Dr. Gordon was amazing!! The first thing he did was ask me to show him my mole (when I made my appointment I told them I wanted to get that taken care of too). He takes one look at it and starts opening the cupboard for the supplies to remove it! He said "So, we can remove it and risk the risks of the procedure : bleeding, infection, scarring, OR we could leave it and risk letting it eat away at your whole head." Hmmmm. . . . let me think about that a while. . . So, 5 minutes later the darn thing is GONE!!!! YAY!!! They sent it to the lab to get biopsied and the results should be back in a week. He does have me a little freaked out though cause as soon as he removed it he looked at it for a bit and said to the nurse "hmmm, that looks and feels very basal cell carcinoma-ish to me, but I would love for the lab to tell me I'm wrong. . ." SCARY!!! So we will see what happens there.

We then moved on to my headaches. He sat down and asked me to tell him all about them. I get barely 2-3 paragraphs into my spiel when he stopped me to state "I can tell you right now that you are getting an MRI!" I kind of sputter and it takes me a bit to get back on track but when I finish he said he thinks its probably migraines but I'm getting an MRI all the same. He felt the lump/s and finds them quite odd.

Soooooooooo, I am going in for an MRI Friday morning!

This guy is amazing!!!! After all the business was completed, when any other doctor would have said their adieus, he sat down with me and spoke to me as if I were his own daughter. He talked to me about becoming a nurse and gave me some insightful advise. He recommended a book to read on love and medicine and healing, he told me about the book he wants to write someday. He told me a few doctor jokes. . . I never knew such an amazing doctor existed!! I have never had a doctor that I trust completely (not even my OB-GYN or the boys pediatrician!). Wow, just wow!

Sorry this post was so long and not nearly as interesting as pictures of the boys but now you know whats going on with me! I will let you know the results of the tests as soon as I get them!!

Anyone up for fried chicken?

Here is the story of how I saved this poor house from bursting into flames!

See these chickies in their nice new pen?

Well, not too many days ago they were living warm and cozy here:

UNTIL, I was putting Elijah to bed one night and I thought I smelled something burning, wood maybe? So I jumped up, ran, following my nose, into the living room to find the wood chips in the chicks home only seconds away from bursting into flames!!!!!! Apparently the chicks had gotten a little too wild and caused their warming light to fall into the pen!!!!!!! I quickly
unplugged the light, then yanked it out on the pen. Burning embers dropped all over the floor so hastily smothered them out with my bare feet- not the smartest idea, mind you, but thats all I had to work with! I had been wondering only the day before when the chicks would not need the warming lamp anymore- well, that answered that question!!!

So, now the chickies are living outside in their movable pen Jake so kindly created for us! Well, we actually decided to bring them inside at night (with no warming lamp) until we can completely close off an area at night because Anna read that weasels and such creatures can slink through the one inch holes in chicken wire and raccoons have been known to reach in one of the whole, grab even a larger chicken, and pull it out, bite by bite!!!!! Hows that for torture?!
Poor things have already been through too much as it
is with 3 of their sibblings getting decapitated and then gobbled up by a mother kitty, then nearly getting burned alive! I feel bad for them!!!

Here they are right now, all snuggled up in their safe sleeping qaurters:

Here are some random photos I took today (oh yeah, my camera is working again, obviously! All it took was Jake switching and switching back batteries, and then a nice soak in the sink- not sure who to thank for that one: Anna or Jake? Ah! It works now so that doesn't matter!).
